I've recently been doing a couple of photoshop tutorials in my spare time now that I'm off uni for the summer. The first one that I attempted was a lomo effect, seen above. I found it really easy to follow and I found out so much more about photoshop that I never even knew it could do.
I really liked the outcome of it and I'm going to keep doing more tutorials, the next one on my list being a pop art effect.
Here's the link if anyone else wants to give it a go:

And here's another one of my attempts.......

Great Idea. Will do some too.
great post too, although you haven't explained what Lomo effect is!? please
Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents," and alternative film processing are often considered part of the "Lomographic Technique."
Taken from Wikipedia (I know I shouldn't but it's the clearest explanation I could find)
There was also the Lomography Fisheye camera where it lets you fisheye-distorted photos through it's take wideangle lens. That's what I tried to create in my second photo, the one with the castle.
Does that answer your question???
oh my gosh he replys on his own blog?
I've seen the fish eye camera. I want one.
Lomogrpahy sounds amazing. "Happy accidents" very romantic. Wiki?!?!? Always good for a brief over view but never for hard facts. BUt what you said would have sounded nicer if it was your own words.
UH and there we have it. You asked me a name for your blog, I suggested
"and in my own words"
or
"my own words"
or
"own words"
.......

I replied to your comment because you asked a question, and I thought if someone else reads it and doesn't know what it is then it's pretty much a pointless post.
And yes wikipedia!!! I could of easily put it down and not said it was from wiki but I did. I didn't know how to put it into my own words either.
Ha! you used wikipedia as a source on your blog at some point so you can't criticize me.
But anyway, you never said if you liked the photos!!!
cool effect!
thanks to share the idea.
